The tourism industry is in trouble in Africa which is having an effect on other aspects of the economy in that country. People are illegally hunting in an effort to bring in money and to feed their families. The pandemic has lead to these problems in this country, it isn’t just in America that there are issues, but the ones in Africa are a bit worse. If this pandemic has done anything it has exposed that Africa needs more than tourism to keep it together.
- In South Africa people are looking for ways to make ends meet by hunting illegally.
- This poaching that is occurring is destroying the livelihood of the country.
- Lack of tourism is also hurting the country and the pandemic has exposed the fact that this shouldn’t be relied on.
“National parks and conservancies, which protect wildlife from poachers, depend almost entirely on international tourism for financing.”
